Montgomery Estates, South Lake Tahoe
Montgomery Estates is considered a desirable area to live due to its location, newer construction and on average, larger lot sizes. It’s just outside the city limit so you have more of “mother nature” out your back door providing you with access to popular mountain biking trails, hiking, and cross country skiing and snowmobile trails. Homeowners like it’s proximity to town where they are close to dining, shopping, beaches and the nightlife. Heavenly Ski Resort is just a couple miles down the road for quick access on those amazing powder days. Sierra at Tahoe is about a 20 minutes drive and Kirkwood about a 35 minutes drive. For those who want the quick access to wide open spaces and easy downtown access Montgomery Estates is ideal.
There are are several small neighborhoods that make up Montgomery Estates as a whole – Golden Bear, Meadow Lakes, Cold Creek, Kokanee Estates, High Meadows and Marshall Trail. Many of the Montgomery Estates homes offer wonderful forest and mountain views. A select few are afforded those wonderful Lake Tahoe views. Many of the people are attracted to the peaceful forest setting along with the choices of a newer construction homes. There are close to a 1,000 residences in this area, with the majority of them being built in the 1980′s on up to the present. Home values seem to hold better in Montgomery estates compared to other areas of South Lake Tahoe. Centrally located to all the Montgomery Estates neighborhoods is Sierra House Elementary School which has a good scholastic reputation and offers easy access right off Pioneer Trail.
